This is it. This could be the last film-promoting Twilight panel at Comic-Con — unless the producers launch a series “reboot” or continue the story, as stars Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) and Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) would like.
On Thursday, KStew and RPattz joined Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black), Kellan Lutz (Emmet Cullen), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen), Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale), Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen), Elizabeth Reaser (Esme Cullen), Mackenzie Foy (Renesmee), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale) and author Stephenie Meyer at Comic-Con to promote The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2, which will be released in November.
Here are a few highlights from the panel, courtesy of BuzzSugar and People:
What about a Twilight reboot?
Rob: "I would love to see that . . . I pity the person who takes over my part. I would make a campaign against them [joking]."
How Stephenie could continue the Twilight story.
Rob: "Edward and Bella get divorced, and it's kind of a Mr. and Mrs. Smith thing."
Stephenie: "So who comes out of that alive?"
Rob: "That's the whole thing, they can't die."
Kristen: "I could totally rip your head off."
What Rob would do if Fifty Shades of Grey were right in front of him?
Rob: "I would just sit there and lick the pages.”
Does Kristen read Fifty Shades in a book club with Rob and Taylor?
Kristen: "That would be disgusting."
Will viewers see vampire sex in the new film?
Kristen: "The ratings, man! [It's] a tricky thing. I think … how do you have ... because we're supposed to have mind-boggling, otherworldly ... sex. In the first one, Breaking Dawn 1, we really … this is weird ... tried to keep the first one sweet. It's about self discovery. Nothing about this series is raunchy. And I know that..."
Rob: [laughing] "I think that's the point, Kristen."
Kristen: [to Rob, joking] "Shut the f-ck up."
Stephenie: "Where's Mackenzie's swear jar?"
Rob: "Seriously. Talking about sex, swearing."
Kristen: "But in the second one, we just wanted to be animals. We're not human anymore. How do you do that? We tried, and they told us it was rated R, and we were like [snaps fingers]. So, yeah, I'm going to stop."
