Go ahead and exhale, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. The cheating “scandal” isn’t keeping fans away from the final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part 2.

According to Deadline, movie theaters around the nation reported long lines and sold-out midnight shows for last night’s big release. A lot of theaters had sold out their screens a long time ago.

Summit Entertainment said the film earned $30.4 million from Thursday 10 p.m. and Friday midnight shows in North America. Breaking Dawn Part 2 is expecting to gross up to $150 million this opening weekend, which would be a franchise record. It’s already breaking records overseas.

So the good news is, the Twilight brand wasn’t hurt that badly by all the scandal publicity. Fans can tell the difference between the books, the movies and the actors who play the characters on screen.
