Whether they’re appearing on Top Chef or American Idol, reality show contestants are known to shed a few tears on camera and give us some not-so-gentle reminders about the pressure they’re constantly under.

And while the teary-eyed TV hopefuls are pretty much commonplace at this point, contestants on this season’s Project Runway seemed to truly reach their wit's end... and after only one week of taping.

According to Page Six, a psychologist was brought in to the set of Lifetime’s Project Runway after one contestant had a meltdown and another quit the show altogether.

A male designer reportedly “had an episode” at the Parsons School for Design on Friday. Although a psychologist came in to calm the guy down, the contestant decided to leave the show after being “too nervous” to continue.

The incident was preceded only a few hours by the dramatic departure of another designer, who reportedly left after feeling “paranoid” about being placed with the bottom contestants during the last challenge.

“She just ran off in the middle of the night,” a source told Page Six. “The next morning she wasn’t in her bed, her suitcase was gone. Producers went to her home, and her doorman said she was upstairs but didn’t want to see anyone.”

Apparently hoping he could pick up where the professional psychologist left off, show judge Michael Kors made an appearance on Friday to calm the rest of the contestants down and give them a pep talk.

But despite the kind words from the industry icon, insiders seem to be worried about the season to come.

“We lost two designers in one day. This has never happened. They seem to be under a lot more pressure,” Page Six’s source said. “The show is in its 10th season and has been filming for a week, and there is a lot more tension and pressure on the designers.”
