Vanessa Lachey — formerly known as Vanessa Minnillo — is opening up about what she experienced after giving birth.
Vanessa welcomed son Camden with husband Nick Lachey in September, and she explains that she had "baby blues" but not postpartum depression.
Vanessa has written in her blog that she came "undone" following her son's birth, and she felt "weepiness, irritability, and feelings of being overwhelmed."
She points out that it wasn't in line with the symptoms of postpartum depression, as she felt more scared than depressed.
"I think it's just fear — the fear of not knowing what I'm doing," she writes. "The fear of 'messing up' this little boy. The fear of being responsible for a human being and not knowing any 'life' experiences to compare moments with him to."
"No matter how many books you read, NOTHING prepares you better than the real thing," Vanessa adds. "I felt lost, unloved, alone, and at my wits end."
By the end of September, she was at her lowest.
"I started crying. I was feeding Camden and crying my eyes out," she says. "I felt like I had officially come undone."
Now, she says she is feeling much better, as she has come to turns that she can't be the "perfect" mother.
Still, we're sure she's a dynamite mom!
