Anything goes at the MTV Movie Awards, which is why Vanilla Ice’s presence on this year’s red carpet wasn’t much of a surprise.

The “Ice Ice Baby” rapper, born Robert Matthew Van Winkle (yes, really), is technically in a movie coming out this year — Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg’s That’s My Boy, playing, reports MTV, an an “exaggerated version of his real-life persona.” which seems to be the trend for forgotten actors of the past few decades (see: James Van Der Beek in Don’t Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 and David Hasselhoff in this month’s Piranha 3DD).

But let’s get down to what we really care about. How much has Ice changed since his glory days in the 80s/early 90s. Answer: not much! At 45, Van Winkle looks more like a star on one of those TLC tattoo shop/pimp my ride type shows than a washed up ex-rapper (that’s a compliment!).
