Brace yourselves, marshmallows.

While the Kickstarter campaign for the Veroinca Mars movie reached its $2 million goal after just 11 hours, Kristen Bell and crew were holding out, hoping to demolish as many Kickstarter as possible — and walked away with $5,702,153 total, which greatly surpassed the $2 million goal.

In total, 91,535 backers chipped in, scoring goodies from a PDF of the shooting script up to a coveted speaking role in the film.

Backers of the Veronica Mars film should be proud, since they definitely shattered some records while reviving their beloved Veronica and Logan. All records broke by the project include:

  • Fastest project to reach $1 million
  • Fastest project to reach $2 million
  • All-time highest-funded project in FILM category
  • Third highest-funded project in Kickstarter history
  • Most project backers of any project in Kickstarter history (with the previous record being 87,143)

Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas took to Twitter to thank fans for helping the little show that could prove that their fans are the greatest.

Everyone will have to wait until early next year to see movie and get their goodies for donating to the project, but fans can rest easy knowing that Veronica Mars made history and will live again.
