What financial crisis? It's easy to make money — just ask Veronica Mars fans!

The Veronica Mars movie raised $2 million in less than a day on Kickstarter, and it's still going strong — nearing $3 million with 29 days to go until the end of project funding on April 12.

This money has earned the film a green light from Warner Bros., an insider told The Wrap. According to the source, the film's production budget will come entirely from the money raised on Kickstarter, but Warner Bros. Digital Distribution will handle the distribution and marketing costs. Star Kristen Bell and creator Rob Thomas are reportedly planning to add more prizes to the campaign to entice more donations.

According to Thomas's Kickstarter post, "If the project is successful, our plan is to go into production this summer and the movie will be released in early 2014." The Wrap story said the film will get a limited theatrical release in 2014 before debuting on video-on-demand and electronic sell through.

Are you excited? Did you pledge any money yourself, or are you just happy to see the response from others? Do you think everyone who pledged will pay up? They'd better!
