Beloved sitcom Will & Grace has a belated and unexpected fan: Vice President Joe Biden!

In an interview with Meet the Press, Biden talked at length about how he is “absolutely comfortable” with the idea of same-sex marriage. Although he could not confirm that the administration as a whole would support marriage equality, he personally endorsed the issue.

Said Biden to host David Gregory, “What this is all about is a simple proposition: Who do you love? [...] And will you be loyal to the person you love? And that’s what people are finding out is what all marriages, at their root, are about, whether they're marriages of lesbians or gay men or heterosexuals.”

The Vice President also credited Will & Grace, which aired from 1998 to 2006, for introducing and acclimating many Americans to gay culture. “I think Will & Grace probably did more to educate the American public than almost anything anybody’s ever done so far. [...] Now they’re beginning to understand,” said Biden.

Most would agree that’s a pretty bold statement, but you have to give the Vice President credit for being vocal about his opinions!
