Here's a relatively new one: Coming out via Wikipedia.
Greg in Hollywood interviewed Alias, Argo, and Titanic star Victor Garber and asked him about a Wikipedia entry that mentioned the actor living in New York with his "companinon of 13 years, Rainer Andreesen." There were also photos of the men together.
"I wondered if that’s something that’s public, that you’ve confirmed," Greg asked Victor. The story said Victor seemed surprised by the question but answered, "I don’t really talk about it, but everybody knows." He added that Rainer would be with him for the SAG Awards.
Jodie Foster made a big speech Sunday at the Golden Globe Awards, saying she actually did her big coming out 1,000 years ago in the Stone Age. Kyle XY actor Matt Dallas also recently came out via Twitter when announcing his engagement.
It's none of our business what celebs do in their personal lives, and yet it's often what people are most curious about — from Taylor Swift's many (failed) romances to the existence of "Brangelina" or "Jelena." Good for Victor Garber for shrugging off the question as a non-issue, but also for being honest — especially since it's not like he was trying to make any kind of coming out statement. He was just asked a question and he answered. Maybe we're finally at the point where it's akin to asking, say, John Mayer, to confirm that he's straight. Unfortunately for the women of the world, the answer to that one seems to be "yes."
