Carl Grimes may not be the most beloved character on The Walking Dead, but executive producer Glen Mazzara assures TV Guide that fans will see a big change in Carl once Season 3 begins.

As Vulture recently pointed out, Carl is one of the characters on TWD that makes many of us yell at our TV sets. But Glen insists that "Carl the boy," who got bored and lured a swamp zombie to the farm that eventually killed actual beloved character Dale, will soon become "Carl the man."

“We’re interested in exploring Carl as a child soldier in this war against the walkers," says Glen. "He becomes a very, very effective, strong part of the group. He's no longer the young child who needs to be cared for and who needs to be minded. That Carl is gone."

Well, good! At least now we won’t yell at Lori through our TV sets for leaving that kid alone all the time. We’ll just yell at her for all the other reasons fans love to yell at Lori. Did we mention that we cannot wait to start yelling at our TVs again?

Bring on Season 3!
