Katie Holmes is taking control. She is the one who filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, and TMZ reports she is asking for sole legal custody and "primary residential custody" of their 6-year-old daughter Suri.

Katie filed for divorce on Thursday, June 28 in New York City, TMZ reports, and she cited the catch-all reason "irreconcilable differences." She also reportedly asked for a "suitable amount" of child support from Tom and division of property. TMZ says the couple has a prenup based on California law, although there is no mention of the prenup in Katie’s divorce filing.

Tom also has two adopted children, Isabella and Connor Cruise, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. When Tom and Nic split in 2001 after 10 years of marriage, the kids — then 8 and 6 — chose to live with Tom, only occasionally seeing Nicole after that. That time, Tom was the one to file for divorce, also citing “irreconcilable differences.”
