To paraphrase the pop superstar: Whatever, haters.
Rihanna endured some very public relationship drama back in 2009, when then-boyfriend Chris Brown got physical with her outside a pre-Grammy Awards party. He was later charged with assault.
So it came as a shock to a large cohort of RiRi’s fans when the singer collaborated with her notorious ex on two tracks earlier this year — her single “Birthday Cake” and his song “Turn Up the Music.”
But Rihanna refuses to pay attention to the uproar. “People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right,” the May 2012 Elle cover girl explained to the mag. “Because tomorrow I’m still going to be the same person. I’m still going to do what I want to do.”
She’s an independent lady — and a single one at that.
When asked about finding love
in a hopeless place, Rihanna said, “I feel like it’s hard for everybody! I don’t think it has anything to do with being famous. There’s just a major drought out there. […] But I just need to find the person who balances me out, because then things like my schedule won’t matter. I’ve done it before, so I know I can do it again.”
As long as she continues to flash her ta-tas in public, the guys will come running.
