Community fans, October 19 was supposed to be the most wonderful day of the year. It’s not only star Gillian Jacob’s 30th birthday, but it’s also the date NBC originally set for the fourth-season premiere of Community — and the second-season premiere of Whitney.

Then, frustratingly, the Peacock execs changed their mind and punted both off the schedule... indefinitely. Or, as Danny Pudi says in this new web video, “Even though the powers-that-be agreed to put the premiere on October 19th, they couldn’t decide where to put October 19th.”

With yesterday’s report that Animal Practice had been cancelled also came the news that Whitney would take its spot starting November 14. But Community remains in limbo.

Lucky for us, the cast gives us a short-and-sweet fix of the show’s meta-humor in this video, explaining that October 19 isn’t so much a date as it is “a state of mind.”

“Troy and Abed airing someday!” Donald Glover and Danny Abed sing. As part of the show’s thousands of viewers, we can’t wait.
