We still haven't quite gotten our fill of this year's crazy Oscars show, between Seth MacFarlane's hilarity, Channing Tatum's dancing, and Jennifer Lawrence's all-around awesomeness. But now it's already time to start thinking about next year's!
ABC has announced that the 2014 Oscars ceremony will air on March 2, 2014. Mark your calendars! Then again, if you already have a 2014 calendar, you might just be a bit too organized.
Sure, it seems hasty to already be thinking about next year's Oscars, considering it's safe to assume that none of the honored movies have been released yet. Still, the Oscars are a big deal for Hollywood, so it's never too early to claim an airdate for them.
You may notice that the 2014 Academy Awards ceremony is happening a bit later in the year than the 2013 ceremony did, which aired this year on February 24. The reason for the delay is the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The Oscars have typically aired on the last Sunday in February — as ABC presumably would like the show to air during February sweeps — but the last Sunday in February 2014 is the same day as the Olympic Closing Ceremony.
The Oscars will go back to its regular slot on the last Sunday of the month starting in 2015.
And if you already have a 2015 calendar, then you really need to take a chill pill.
