UPDATE: On Monday, January 14, Robin told GMA she'd be returning to the show within "a matter of weeks, not months."

Original story:

Good Morning America's
Robin Roberts is a true survivor. In 2007, she revealed she had breast cancer. Last June, she announced on GMA that she had myelodysplastic syndrome and would have a bone marrow transplant. She started her extended medical leave on August 30, 2012, and in early October she went home from the hospital.

Fans have been supporting Robin the whole way, looking forward to her recovery and return to GMA. But even though GMA Powers That Be would love Robin to return to the show as early as February, TMZ quoted "multiple sources" connected to the show who said Robin won't be able to re-join the GMA staff until May, at the earliest, or possibly June 2013, because her immune system is very weak. However, they said doctors are happy with her progress and things are going as planned, it's just not something she can rush. Health comes first!

Best of luck to Robin, as always.
