It's a question as old as the Biebs himself: Where is Justin Bieber from? And how did he come to land on U.S. soil?
Well, he's Canadian, which means he's from Canada. Baby Bieber was born on March 1, 1994, in London, Ontario, to Jeremy Bieber and Patricia Mallette. While his parents never married, they were both there for Justin throughout his childhood, nurturing his love of music.
Growing up, Justin taught himself to play all sorts of instruments, including piano and guitar. Momma Patricia soon started posting her son's musical stylings, like various performances at local singing and talent competitions, to YouTube for friends and family to see. She then started loading Justin's versions of popular R&B songs, and his online following grew to include some influential people. He was just 14 years old.
In 2008, one of those influential people, talent manager Scooter Braun, discovered Justin on YouTube, and it didn't take long for his career take off. Scooter took Biebs to the U.S. to meet R&B star Usher, whom he signed with. It wasn't long before Scooter and Usher catapulted Biebs to international superstardom. Millions of Beliebers are forever in their debt!
