Whitney Houston’s tragic death immediately turned the spotlight onto her 18-year-old daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina, as she grappled with the sudden death of her mother. Grief-stricken, Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized for an alleged nervous breakdown within 24 hours of her mother’s passing. It turns out that Bobbi Kristina may not be the only child grieving. Multiple sources report Whitney has a “secret” 22-year-old son named Nick Gordon who is still living in the Houston family home in Atlanta.
According to TMZ, Whitney unofficially adopted Nick over 10 years ago after learning his mother could no longer care for him. At 2AM on the night of her death, Nick took to the Internet to share his grief over losing Whitney, tweeting succinctly, “Rest in peace,” later adding [sic], “The Legand will always and forever live on.”
Bobbi Kristina, who would have been 8 years old at the time Nick moved in with them, considers Nick her brother, reports RadarOnline. In 2011, Nick allegedly broke up a fight between Bobbi Kristina and her then-boyfriend, pulling a gun out to stop the brawl. Nick was later arrested for weapon possession and Bobbi Kristina was arrested for possession of alcohol.
A source close to Cissy Houston (Whitney’s mother) tells TMZ that Cissy is convinced Nick is a bad influence on Bobbi Kristina and she wants him out of the family house and away from her granddaughter immediately. However, another family friend tells Hollywood Life Bobbi is refusing to abandon Nick and insisting they both continue to live in their mother’s house. “[Nick] is like her brother,” the source says, “and I seriously doubt Cissy will be able to evict him from the house. He is Krissy’s closest friend right now.”
