Glee is one powerful show!
Out Magazine has released its seventh-annual list of the 50 most powerful gay public figures, and Glee is well-represented.
Glee creator Ryan Murphy is number three, Season 1 guest star Neil Patrick Harris is 13, Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) came in at 40, and blogger Perez Hilton — who once made a cameo on the show — is 49. Whew!
Given all those honorees, we'll try not to carp about Chris Colfer (Kurt) and Matt Bomer (Cooper) being inexplicably omitted.
Other notable names on the list include Ellen DeGeneres at number two, singer Frank Ocean at 10, Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen at 14, and the ever-fabulous RuPaul squeaking onto the list at number 50.
So who took the top spot? That would be Apple CEO Tim Cook.
This is the first year Anderson Cooper has made the list since publicly coming out, although he has been on the list in previous years. This year, the CNN reporter is number five.
In fact, the list has earned controversy over the years for listing people who are not public about their sexual orientation.
This year's full list can be seen here.
Congrats to all these powerful stars and entrepreneurs!
