Music’s current queen, Adele, is known for channeling her feelings into hit break-up anthems, but the talented songbird let her emotions get the best of her Tuesday night, February 21, while accepting the Brit Award for Best Album for 21.

During the live London telecast, Adele — fresh off her six-Grammy sweep — gave the middle finger after Brit Awards host James Corden cut her acceptance speech short. Adele later apologized for the inappropriate gesture and insisted that it was not intended for her fans, but instead for the “suits at the Brit Awards.”

Adele continued, “I was about to thank the British public for their support and they cut me off. Sorry if I offended anyone, but the suits offended me.”

To their credit, ITV — the broadcaster of the of the awards — issued their own apology to Adele, stating, “The Brits is a live event, sadly the program was over-running and we had to move on.”

The statement continued, "We would like to apologize to Adele for the interruption.... We don't want this to undermine her incredible achievement in winning her incredible award.”

However, Adele ended the night on a high note after taking home a second Brit Award for Best Female Solo Artist.

Long live Adele!
