What's in a name? A lot, especially if you're talking about an expensive summer movie with a name that happens to remind people of a recent tragedy.
That was the case with the new comedy Neighborhood Watch, which stars Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, and Vince Vaughn and is due in theaters on July 27. The film's studio has decided to change the title to avoid association to the Trayvon Martin tragedy in Florida.
The film will now go by simply The Watch, although we're guessing the movie has nothing to do with a timepiece that you wear on your wrist. The film's plot revolves around four suburban dudes whose neighborhood watch group stumbles upon an alien plot to destroy the planet. (Where's Will Smith when you need him?) So we're guessing this isn't based on a true story, but you never know.
And aliens can be tough to deal with, but we're assuming they won't be nearly as tough of an enemy as Ben Stiller faced when he met his fiancee's folks in Meet the Parents. If you can survive your father-in-law giving you a lie detector test, we think you can survive a few little green men.
