Slipper man, we hardly knew ye!

We're down to one ex-convict on The Walking Dead Season 3 —  the pervy guy with the porn mustache. Axel (Lew Temple) remains in the prison, but Oscar (Vincent Ward), who joined Rick, Daryl and Michonne on their quest to save Glenn and Maggie in Woodbury, was killed on Season 3, Episode 8, "Made to Suffer."

Why did Oscar have to die? Showrunner Glen Mazzara told Entertainment Weekly, “That was a tough one. That actor has done a great job, but we could not have the Governor get his ass kicked completely. He loses his daughter, he loses his eye, his town is shot up. We had to put some points in his column, so poor Oscar had to go.”

It doesn’t seem fair to make him so expendable. He was a decent guy. Not that we want any of the other Team Prison folks to have to die. But some viewers have pointed out that TWD seems to only allow one black male lead character at a time. Oscar showed up right around the time that T-Dog was killed off. Now that Tyreese is here, Oscar is gone. Coincidence or more?

Anyway, RIP, Oscar. Hope your slippers find a good home.
