Could we be in store for another classic "Shy Ronnie" sketch this Saturday night?
There haven't been any specifics yet, but Saturday Night Live head honcho, Lorne Michaels, has confirmed that Rihanna — this week's musical guest — is likely to appear in at least one sketch this Saturday, May 5. And considering that the host is quarterback Eli Manning, we're guessing that Rihanna is probably more skilled at acting than the actual host of the episode is!
Lorne says that he's "hoping" that a Rihanna sketch will make it to the air this weekend, as there "are a lot of things in the works," and that the situation would become clearer after he sees how the sketches do at this week's rehearsals. In the two previous times that RiRi has been the musical guest, she has also appeared in a digital short with Andy Samberg, who plays the soft-talking Shy Ronnie. Let's hope we get to witness another one of these!
Rihanna, 24, is not only promoting her recent album Talk That Talk, but she also appears in the blockbuster film Battleship, opening later this month. So it makes sense that she'll also get to do some acting on the show, too, right? Let's just hope that when this week's episode is over, she'll have had multiple reasons to "take a bow."
Will Battleship become your favorite board game-based movie? We assume so, considering that the competition in that particular category isn't all that fierce. (At least not until Checkers: The Movie eventually hits theatres.)
