Move over doping, Ryan Lochte's poor interviewing skills/womanizing, and those Chinese-made Ralph Lauren uniforms — there's a new Olympics scandal in town: American rower Henrik Rummel's alleged post-medal erection.

The crotch-centered hullabaloo started at the awards ceremony in which Henrik and his teammates received the bronze medal for the Men's Four Final. While the team waved to the crowd, revelling in their third place win, fans' eyes inevitably moved to the athletes' impossibly tight shorts — oh, what's that? That can't be right. We're seeing things. But wait, something must be happening down there...

And then, because the Interwebs can't get enough of a good sex-related scandal (*cough* Kristen Stewart *cough*), photos of the Olympic member began to circulate (see the sort of-NSFW photo), causing embarrassment for a medal-winning Olympian who would rather you focus on his achievement than his manhood.

Now that things have reached a tipping point, Henrik was moved to release a statement. On Reddit. Because people do that now.

"This is me and I swear it's not erect! I don't know why it ended up in that position but there you go."

For what it's worth, Henrik, we don't think you have anything to be embarrassed about.
