Cue the British tabloids because the People’s Princess will be played by an American in upcoming movie! (We’re guessing they’re going to be a wee bit more fired up over this one than over Renée Zellweger playing Bridget Jones back in the day.) The Help’s Jessica Chastain will portray Lady Diana in Caught in Flight, a film that tells the story of her love affair with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Kahn.
The relationship between Princess Diana and Kahn began in 1995 and lasted two years. It was kept a secret until Kahn broke his silence in 2008. As you can see, the movie is bound to be controversial, but even more so with a non-Brit in the lead. Jessica Chastain, 30, hails from California and will have to perfect her accent, though she’s been getting rave reviews for her recent role in Take Shelter.
