Getting old isn’t easy — especially not when you’re scared that, on top of everything else, you may be kicked out of your home.
That’s been a worry of Hollywood glamor icon Zsa Zsa Gabor. She and her husband (her ninth, if you’re counting), Frederic Prinz von Anhalt have been facing financial struggles and have had to sell their Bel Air mansion. Under a new deal reached on Friday, the couple will be allowed to stay in their four-bedroom, five-bathroom domicile for at least three years — or until Zsa Zsa dies.
It’s a sad, if not downright morbid thought, but the Hungarian star has been critically ailing. She’s been in and out of the hospital since a hip fracture 3 years ago. In 2011, she had a leg amputated.
Her hubby, Frederic listed the house for sale in the height of Zsa Zsa’s medical crises, when mounting medical bills took their toll on the couple’s riches. The asking price was $15 million. Under the current negotiation, the buyers will pay the couple $325,000 a year while they continue to reside in the estate.
This must be a very difficult time for Zsa Zsa and her husband, but Frederic says “this decision is going to make her very happy.” He’s also hopeful that Zsa Zsa will outlive the three-year agreement, noting that her mother lived to be 102.
We hope this deal is helpful to the couple both financially, and mentally, and that Zsa Zsa spends the rest of her years with her husband in peace.
