Julia Stiles as Kat Stratford
Following the release of 10 Things I Hate About You in 1999, Julia Stiles took a brief break from acting to earn a degree in English from Columbia University. (Then-boyfriend Joseph Gordon-Levitt also attended.) Since graduating, the actress has padded her resume with a wide range of projects. Her most memorable movies include Save the Last Dance, the Bourne series, and the 2013 Oscar-nominated film Silver Linings Playbook. In 2010, Julia appeared on 10 episodes of Showtime’s crime drama Dexter. Two years later, the actress starred in Blue, a 12-part web series which examines the intimate life of an escort.
Also taking her talents to the stage, Julia has appeared in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and Mamet’s Oleanna. She made her writing and directorial debut with Raving, a short film starring Zooey Deschanel which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2007.
When she’s not working, Julia devotes much of her time to charity projects. She’s built homes in Costa Rica with Habitat For Humanity and works with Amnesty International to raise awareness of the harsh conditions of juvenile immigration detention.
Julia Stiles was last linked to actor David Harbour in 2012. They’re no longer together.
