Dana Delany: Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City
Sarah Jessica Parker helped define a generation of single women in her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw. But the part was originally offered to Desperate Housewives star Dana Delany.
"I didn’t want to be in a show about sex," she admitted to Daily Mail in 2011. The part went to Sarah Jessica Parker and it made her into a worldwide star, but I’ve got no regrets." She would later say on Watch What Happens Live that she just didn't have the right fashion sense.
Interestingly, before Dana was slated to play Katherine Mayfair, she claims she turned down the role of Desperate Housewives's Bree van de Camp three times — a role that eventually went to co-star Marcia Cross.
