Keenen Wayans: Writer and Director
Though he was the show’s host and creator, Keenen Wayans decided to leave In Living Color at the end of the third season after disagreeing with Fox about censored content. His next steps were shaky, including a short-lived late-night talk show called The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show, which was canceled in 1998.
Finally, Keenen hit box office gold in 2000 with Scary Movie, which he created and directed. It was the most financially success flick ever directed by an African American. He later went on to direct the comedies White Chicks, Little Man, and Dance Flick, all of which he co-wrote with his brothers Shawn and Marlon.
Along with his busy career, Keenen was married from 2000 to 2003. He and his ex wife have five kids together.
