Lark Voorhies: Lisa Turtle
Aside from playing fashion-obsessed Lisa Turtle on Saved by the Bell, Lark Voorhies is probably best known for learning that Martin Lawrence had called off their engagement when he went on The Arsenio Hall Show in 1989, and revealed that he was engaged to another woman. Ouch. Translation: Lark’s post-SbtB career hasn’t been amazing.
Lark landed several small- and big-screen roles after The College Years, including runs on The Bold and the Beautiful, In the House, and Days of Our Lives, but there’s a gaping hole in her IMDb acting resume from 2002 to 2008. While it’s hard to say exactly what happened, The National Enquirer didn’t help things when it ran a story in June 2005 describing Lark as a bipolar coke addict. She sued the rag for libel the following year, but not after losing some acting gigs in the fallout.
In July 2013, Lark revealed that she's been putting all of her creative talent into a new hobby: painting! Oh, and that she "wrote, executive produced and starred in" a feature sci-fi film. No word yet on what that is.
Beyond the Martin Lawrence debacle, her love life has also had its ups and downs: Lark was married to actor Miguel Coleman from 1996 to 2004, and she remarried in 2007, getting hitched to a fella named Andy Prince. They have one child. Lark will celebrate her 40th birthday on March 25, 2014!
