Glee: Kurt Hummel, Brittany S. Pierce, and Santana Lopez
Featuring a handful of characters coming to terms with their sexual identity (it is high school, after all), Glee is one of TV’s most gay-friendly shows — and it has the awards to prove it!
From the series premiere, everyone but Mercedes (Amber Riley) seems to clue in to the fact that Kurt (Chris Colfer) is gay... until he briefly dates Brittany (Heather Morris) while questioning his sexuality. The uncertainty is long behind him now — before their recent breakup, he and Blaine (Darren Criss) were one of the show’s cutest couples!
Initially no more than a playful fling, Brittany and Santana’s (Naya Rivera) romance evolves into something more serious because of the pair’s immense popularity with fans. Santana eventually comes out to her friends and family, and while her abuela doesn’t take it well (at all), her mother (guest star Gloria Estefan) is fully supportive. Santana and Brittany started Season 3 as an official, head-over-heels-in-love couple... only to call it quits at the beginning of Season 4.
