Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Not all heroes are super," says the trailer for Joss Whedon's latest foray into TV, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And given Whedon's fascination with the tension between super and non-super humans, we think he's more than up to the task of proving that audacious statement!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. takes place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and centers around Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson you know, that guy from The Avengers with the complete set of Captain America trading cards. His reprisal of his Avengers role should be interesting to say the least, given his apparent death at the hands of Loki in the film. Under Coulson's lead, the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. — Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division will take on cases assigned to the organization, often related to superhumans and supernatural ideas.

In addition to Phil Coulson, the show features ER's Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May a pilot and weapons expert; Nashville's Chloe Bennet as Skye a civilian recruit and snarky computer hacker; Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz a weapons specialist; Elizabeth Henstridge as Fitz's partner Agent Jenna Simmons an expert on life sciences both human and alien; and Cobie Smulders, who reprises her role from The Avengers as Maria Hill.

With its strong cast and Whedon's fun and action-packed take on Marvel's universe, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is sure to be one of this fall's most thrilling television experiences. The show is set to air September 24, 2013 on ABC.
