Glee Alum and Switched at Birth Star Max Adler Talks Season 3 and Future of Tank And Bay

Credit: Celebified

Glee alum and Switched at Birth star Max Adler dropped by the Celebified studios to dish on the simmering romance between his character, Tank, and Vanessa Marano's Bay Kennish. Will it be Team Bank or Team Bemmett for the long haul? Get Max's thoughts, and find out what's in store for the next few episodes of the ABC Family hit.

For those not familiar with the show, Max gave his own rundown: "Tank is a pledge to the frat Omega Psi, and he takes an art class thinking he's just going to skate by, because it's art, and it's an elective."

In that art class, he meets Switched at Birth heroine Bay, "who's taking the art class in this college as a high school student because she's an artist and advanced." Are they just friends, or will their friendship blossom into an unlikely romance — especially since Bay has been dating Emmett Bledsoe (Sean Berdy) for two years?

"Tank is this guy Who Bay's never been around. He's this meathead, sports guy, fratboy; she's this intellectual, cultured artiste," says Max. "They both grow and learn things about each other and themselves [and] Tank's just a sweetheart ... He takes to Bay very quickly and is pretty much willing to do anything for her."

He says to keep an eye out for Episodes 5 and 6, when their relationship comes to a head. "Their relationship will develop a lot in one way or another ... things will go down."

Of course, not everyone's happy about the potential demise of Bay and Emmett's relationship — and Max understands that not everyone would welcome his character stepping in. "I love that people are talking about it," he said. "It's very real. If you've watched a couple for two seasons [like] Bay and Emmett, [they] have this strong history, this solid foundation, you always assume this is going to be that power couple ... So who's this new guy disrupting this couple that they've been attached to for two years?"

"Things happen in those years," he teases.
