Nick Cannon Speaks on Mariah Carey Breakup and Possible Reconciliation
“There would be nothing wrong with that, but that’s not the case. There’s nothing but unconditional love there. She’s gorgeous, but you know, I’m respectful. I put the kids to bed and I go home.”
The talk show diva then called Nick’s bluff, saying she doesn’t believe they only interact when co-parenting.
“I’m rooting for you guys to get back together in five years.”
She believes Nick should be done with his player ways by then, and will go back “home to mama” when all is said and done.
When Nick suggested Mariah may need time as well, Wendy agreed, but only because he’s the one who reportedly killed her last romance.
Nick denies he played a part, saying “I don’t get involved in that. I’m just there to support my children. That’s all it’s about.”
He continued, “Whatever she wants to do in her personal life I support and I salute. I just want her to be happy.”
When asked why they separated in the first place, Nick said they stopped growing together as a couple.
“I feel like when two people are in a relationship, it should be about growth, right? It should be a situation where everyone is becoming a better human being in the relationship.
When you get to a point where theres no longer any growth, and youre not bettering each other, especially as you're building a household to become one, I felt like it was probably best to be the best father possible from outside of that house. He then jokingly added, It was all my fault! I did it!
Nick went on to reveal that all of his children get along, including his infant with ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell. While she and Mariah have yet to meet, the “Fantasy” singer is well aware of Nick’s new life and supports him as much as he supports her.
“Regardless if we’re together or not, I’m going to always be that stability.”
