Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Not Spending Valentine’s Day Together: Mimi Addresses Divorce Rumors!
Mariah Carey is getting her legions of lambs in the Valentine's Day spirit today with the release of her brand-new single "You're Mine (Eternal)" from her upcoming 14th studio album — but is the pop diva looking forward to the most romantic day of the year? Not so much.
"He's not even going to be at home now from what I hear," Mariah dished on The Breakfast Power Club on Power 105.1 about her hubby of over five years, Nick Cannon.
So how is Nick planning to spend his V-day? Turns out the America's Got Talent host is ditching his superstar wife to play in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in New Orleans alongside a variety of other celebs, including Jesse Williams from Grey's Anatomy, comedian Kevin Hart, Victoria Secret's model Erin Heatherton, and more.
While Mariah doesn't seem too bothered by Nick's alternate V-day plans, she does come off a bit perturbed by her man's loud mouth. It's no secret that Nick loves cracking jokes about their relationship in his comedy routines, but he also enjoys dishing on the TMI details of their romantic escapades — like that time he admitted they totally get it on to Mariah's music. Oops!
"Nick needs to slow down and stop talking so much. I hope Nick's listening," she said. "I would prefer to have a certain degree of decorum versus just saying anything for laughs."
Rumors have been swirling for a while now that Mimi is fed up with Nick's on-stage antics and their marriage is on the fritz as a result, but the "#Beautiful" songstress has learned to accept her man's outspoken personality.
"Nick says whatever he wants, and that's Nick … I don't always love what he talks about," Mariah says, adding that she doesn't even care to read his tweets. "Honestly, if you think I'm sitting there following what he's talking about [on Twitter], I don't even barely have time to sleep at all. I'd rather be paying attention to the babies and singing."
As for those pesky divorce rumors? Mimi answers in typical diva sarcasm: "Yes, we're going to divorce court after we leave, dahling … It's divorce!"
We're going to assume that Mariah and Nick are planning a belated Valentine's Day celebration when he gets back, complete with Godiva chocolates, champagne, rose petals, and Mariah Carey Number 1s. Somebody cue "Dreamlover."
