Well, it was about time somebody else joined Marcus Grodd in the premature L-Bomb department — we just didn’t see it coming from Nick Viall! The controversial contestant vying for Andi Dorfman’s heart has had his competitors riled up over his overconfidence. But on June 23’s Episode 6, he responded to all those “frontrunner” accusations — and even told the Bachelorette that he loved her!
Well, okay... he’s “falling in love.” But still, that’s a sentiment that’s usually saved for Fantasy Suites week, at least! Before he got to all that romancing, though, Nick had some tough questions to answer — and from a gang prosecutor, no less!
During the pair’s 1-on-1 date in Venice, Andi put Nick on the spot about those rumors that he considered himself the “frontrunner.”
“I don’t like the word,” Nick explained, before turning a more positive leaf. “I feel incredibly fortunate to have the connection that we have. It is hard to imagine anyone else having that with you. I cherish that and I don’t take it for granted.”
The Bachelorette did seem to appreciate those sentiments, but Nick had more answers in his arsenal.
“These guys are my friends… but you’re my number one priority. When we do talk I talk with a sense of confidence about us, and it’s tough in those situations. I get it. I don’t know what it would be like being in their shoes,” he continued.
That seemed to be good enough for Andi, as she gazed adoringly into his eyes. “He takes responsibility for what he said, and I think that’s very respectable,” she muses to the ABC cameras. And his next comment was the kicker.
“I can confidently say that I’m definitely falling in love,” Nick revealed, giving us whiplash. Whoa buddy, we didn’t see that coming.
Andi was clearly pleased by the declaration, but we’re still reeling. We want to believe him, but it’s a bit of a struggle.
So you tell us: Do you think Nick was genuine with his statement? And is he here for the (sorry, we have to) right reasons? Vote down below!
