Newly-Single Nick Viall Reveals If He’d Ever Return to ‘The Bachelor’

It’s been less than a week since Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi announced the end of their nine-month engagement.

But things move quickly in Bachelor Nation, so fans are already looking ahead for the Bachelor 2017 couple.

More specifically: Will the four-time franchise star return to his roots down the road?

“It's with a great amount of heartbreak for the both us as we have decided to end our engagement,” the pair said in their joint statement on August 25.

“We gave this relationship our all and we are saddened that we did not get the fairytale ending we hoped for.”

Clearly, they’re still hurting — something both parties admitted this week.

Vanessa revealed she “feels broken” over the split, while Nick confessed, “I still love her very much.”

That said, if what we heard was true, this breakup was a long time coming — both for the couple and those close to them.

“Their friends knew the relationship wouldn’t last,” an insider detailed.

“It was a mismatch from the start. She’s super fun, bubbly and outgoing and he’s more of a serious personality and more introverted.”

Because of this, some have wondered if the 36-year-old has moved on enough in his mind to potentially consider returning to do a Bachelor show down the road.

Those people shouldn’t hold their breath, though, as the Wisconsin native has definitively closed that chapter of his life.

“I’m definitely done with that,” he tells Us Weekly.

He continues, “I’m very thankful for everything. I don’t have regrets. I don’t have any regrets. There are still a lot of positive things that came from it, especially my relationship with Vanessa.”

For now, he’s just focusing on spending time with his franchise pals off-screen.

“I’m lucky enough to have friends in Bachelor Nation, like the twins and Ashley [Iaconetti], Carly [Waddell] and Evan [Bass], Wells [Adams], Jared [Haibon], for sure,” he gushes.

“I was very thankful for a lot of people reaching out and kind of giving their best wishes to both Vanessa and I,” he adds.

“A lot of friends from Bachelor Nation were some of those people, and we’re thankful for them.”

Of course, he’s also “very lucky” to have his family during this tough time. However, it’s also interesting to hear that his now-ex is also a sense of support.

“Vanessa and I are still very much each other’s support system, you know?” he shares.

“We’re trying to do that, and it’s a challenge at times, but we still realize that we’re there for each other.”
