Nicki Minaj Leaving American Idol After This Season: Report

Is Nicki Minaj meant to fly from American Idol?

Sources say that the feisty rapper will not return as an American Idol judge after the 2013 season is over, according to Us Weekly.

"It's safe to say she isn't coming back to Idol," a source says. "She's okay with it."

The insider adds that this had been her plan all along.

"She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway," the source adds.

Instead, Nicki will reportedly be focusing on her upcoming album, touring, and future endorsements.

If this is true, it would mean there are now at least two open seats at the judges' table, with Randy Jackson bidding farewell to his dawgs last week by announcing this would be his final season.

There has been no concrete word about fellow judges Keith Urban and Mariah Carey, but a report last week surfaced that Mariah would be fired after the season. This wouldn't be a huge surprise, since Mariah hasn't been the most interesting judge this season, not to mention there were rumors of her getting replaced by Jennifer Lopez.

There's no question that Nicki has kept things interesting this season, but some viewers have been put off by her unique judging style.

So will you miss Nicki, or do you hope the door doesn't hit her on the way out?
