Michael brings his gun to the reunion party.
Nikita fans! Are you wondering where on earth Season 2 is going? So is Shane West! Shane, who plays half of the most messed up relationship on TV as Michael , was at New York Comic-Con last week, where he dished about getting left in the dark by the series writers this season.
“In retrospect, Season 1 was a lot easier,” he told us. “I have no clue where this one is going. I do know that [director] Craig [Silverstein] has blocked out, even from the first episode, the first three seasons. He already had a clue what he wanted for the first three, so I know he knows what’s going on, clearly. I’m now in a situation like a lot of the other characters are. You know, how Melinda [Clarke as Amanda] has always been, how Xander [Berkeley as Percy] has always been.”
But, says Shane, one actor has no problem with any of that!
“I don’t think Aaron [Sanford] worries about that because he’s just enjoying playing Birkoff and we all enjoy him, too. We’re all — Lyndsy [Fonseca as Alex] as well — kind of learning it little by little. But that’s kind of how it starts on this show. And I think this year, everyone talks about the writers, everyone talks about the creators, and there’s a stronger relationship. I think there needs to be a little give and take. You’ve got to give the actors a little bit, so that they’re not completely clueless when they do a scene. Or so that episode to episode it doesn’t really match, performance-wise.
“That’s the dangerous line between actors and writers. They have to communicate, but they can’t give too much away. It’s a very fine line.”
