While we’re not exactly hanging around the Bloomingdales, waiting to catch Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell registering for wedding presents, we don’t like to hear more negativity enter the conversation. But a Star magazine (via RadarOnline) interview with Nikki’s ex, Ryan McDill, has us a little extra worried about the Bachelor 2014 couple.

Ryan and Nikki dated for a long time back in Missouri, according to Reality Steve, and now he’s telling the tabloid that Juan Pablo is bad news, saying “Juan Pablo doesn’t care about you at all. He’s a total zero, and if you’ve really fallen for him, this bum will only break your heart.” While we appreciate the fact that someone still uses the word “bum,” we also need to point out that Ryan has likely never met Juan Pablo.

Apparently, Nik’s former lover tuned in to the season against his “better judgment,” clarifying that it was “only because Nikki was on it, of course.” (Yeah, OK buddy, we bet your DVR tells a different story…) But from the way Ryan talks about his ex’s new man, it sounds like perhaps his feelings about her aren’t all gone. And while we can’t blame him, he gets a little heated. “It was surreal to watch someone who I’ve been so close to. And from what I’ve seen of Juan Pablo, he has nothing going on, other than being handsome.”

Continues Ryan, “He’s dull, has no personality, is a terrible listener, is totally self-centered and doesn’t seem to be too bright.” Her ex adds that Ryan doesn’t seem to think Nikki has much in common with Juan Pablo. “She loves [the Country Western] scene — but she hates Latin music,” he claims. “That could also be a problem with Juan Pablo.”

Ya think? While normally a different taste in music isn’t the be-all, end-all of a relationship, Juan Pablo took (now Bachelorette) Andi Dorfman to a Latin music show in Miami, he sings it on his Instagram, he used to rep Latin artists… Basically, if Nikki hates that scene, we highly doubt she’ll enjoy going out with him.

So, what’s the take home message here? Basically, Nikki is worth caring about, and her ex might still be into her. That, or he really enjoyed the dime he got paid to spout about the girl who has definitely moved on. We’ll take it with a grain of salt, as we have with the Juan Pablo cheating rumors, and hope that everyone is just talking nonsense out of love and protection for Nikki. But if they turn out to be true, we’re starting a petition to impeach Juan Pablo, and make Bachelor 2015 “Season 18” as if this one never happened.
