Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Discusses The Other Woman

Game of Thrones has helped make Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) an international star, and, predictably, the movie roles are pouring in for the handsome actor. His next project, The Other Woman (no, it’s not about Brienne), sees him sharing the screen with a number of big Hollywood names.

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Nikolaj explained what the film's all about. Spoiler alert: It's very different from Game of Thrones.

“I’m the husband to Leslie Mann and Cameron [Diaz] is the other woman and they kind of form some kind of bond, those two women,” he explained. “Then, they find out he has a third woman — that’s Kate Upton — and all three meet up and it’s one of those things where he has to pay a price for his wicked ways.” Whatever price Nikolaj's character pays, we’re sure it was worth it for getting to spend time with all those lovely ladies! Besides, it can't be worse than losing a hand, right?

In addition to the previously mentioned actresses, Nikolaj has another surprising co-star in the film. He reveals, “[Nicki Minaj is] in there as well, but I’m not having a [relationship with her] ... That’s a platonic relationship so far. But she’s a lot of fun, I have to say that.” Kingslayer joining forces with Nicki Minaj? Yeah, we think we’ll be in line for this film!

This is the first time Nikolaj has had a lead in a comedy film, and he enjoyed the change of pace. He says, “I’m having fun. That’s for sure. It’s a great part. He’s such a, I’m a real, what’s the word — d***? So that’s fun.”

Sounds a little like classic Season 1-era Jaime Lannister to us ... but probably with less attempted child murder.

The Other Woman is directed by Nick Cassavetes and is set to open in theaters next April.
