Nina Dobrev Beats Kat Graham to Win 2013 Teen Choice Award

The fans have spoken, and Nina Dobrev (Elena) reigns supreme. The Vampire Diaries actress took home the coveted giant surfboard for Choice TV Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards on August 11, beating out four competitors, including her TVD co-star Kat Graham (Bonnie).

Both Kat and Nina were up for the award along with Ginnifer Goodwin from Once Upon a Time, Kristin Kreuk from Beauty and the Beast and Katie Cassidy from Arrow.

Nina hasn’t yet tweeted after winning her award, but the 24-year-old did post a fun photo of herself on the way to the Teen Choice festivities. As for Kat, the newly-engaged beauty didn’t seem to be taking her loss too hard. She took to Twitter to thank all the fans who did vote for her, then made it clear that she’d already moved on to the next exciting thing in her life.

We thank you to everyone who voted! Love you! Breaking bad in an hour and a half, time to get focused!!” Kat wrote.

All in all, The Vampire Diaries won big at the 2013 awards, taking home a grand total of three surfboards. TVD won in the category of Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi, while Nina’s ex-boyfriend and co-star Ian Somerhalder (Damon) took home the award for Choice TV Actor: Fantasy/Sci-Fi.
