Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev (Elena) is lending her celebrity to help promote the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare). She and Twilight’s Nikki Reed starred in a short PSA encouraging people to get covered before the registration period ends on March 31. Check it out!

The two-minute video shows Nina and Nikki enjoying a day of yoga and a night out on the town — until disaster strikes! The two injure themselves while trying to take a selfie, landing themselves with a $20,000 hospital bill as neither is insured. Sure, the tone of the video is hyperbolic, but the message is pretty serious: health care is expensive if you’re not insured, and the Affordable Care Act offers inexpensive options. Or, as the YouTube description of the video reads...

“Don't let a $100 night out with your friends cost you $20,000. The deadline to sign up for affordable health care is March 31st! If you miss that deadline, you can't sign up until January 2015. So, don't be a fool on April Fool's Day....go to to find the health plan that's right for you. If you're in California, you can find your plan at #GetCovered.”

Unless you’re a vampire, of course — then, don’t worry about it. You’re immortal!
