In 2008, The Vampire DiariesNina Dobrev rocked out as one of the stars of The American Mall, an MTV movie in the vein of High School Musical. The TV movie didn’t do so well in the ratings, but it seemed to have a struck a chord with the cast and crew. They’ve just launched a Kickstarter campaign to make a sequel happen. Check it out!

“Exciting News! I'm reuniting w/ my #AmericanMall fam! Be a part of making it happen! U could be in it!” Nina tweeted yesterday, along with a link to the fundraising page.

“Cast members of ‘The American Mall’ rejoin for a hilarious spoof based on the musical film that first brought them together!” the Kickstarter page reads. “The cast of "The American Mall" is back and has written a hilarious MUSICAL parody for fans! Nina Dobrev, Autumn Reeser, Bresha Webb, Blythe Auffarth, Brooke Lyons, and Rodney To will reprise their roles and let the funny rip in ‘After the Mall’ with original music from Keely Hawkes and company to be debuted! Help our cast members "Get Their Rock On" and make this project a reality with your generous contribution. Don't Hold Back, y'all!”

If the campaign raises $7,000, the short will be filmed in Los Angeles. Backer prizes include everything from a credit in the movie for a $25 contribution to a personalized Vine video from the cast for the $150 contribution to a small role in the film for a $2,000 contribution. Basically, if you have a few K lying around, you could be Nina’s co-star.
