Nina Dobrev may be linked to any Hollywood hottie who is capable of walking and talking at the same time, but what’s this we hear about the Vampire Diaries actress dating a real life cop? While her character in Let’s Be Cops seems fascinated by the uniform, it was a major turn off for the brunette beauty.

“I went on a date once with a police officer — unbeknownst to me, I thought he was a regular guy — and when I found out he was a police officer, immediately, unlike my character in [Let’s Be Cops], I wasn’t so into it,” Nina tells E! News. “I got all paranoid that I would illegally cross the street and get a ticket for jaywalking. I thought he was going to arrest me every five seconds. It obviously didn’t go anywhere after that. I was afraid he was going to arrest me, I don’t know. Even when I’m not doing something wrong and there’s a police officer in the presence, I suddenly feel guilty for nothing.”

But being around a police officer isn’t the only thing Nina is terrified of — or should we say was terrified of? The 25-year-old actress notes that making the move from dramatic TV to movie comedies was tough but, as usual, nothing could stop Nina in her quest to dominate the big and small screens.

“In my life I’m very unfiltered, but on-camera, coming from The Vampire Diaries, it’s always so regimented,” Nina explains to E! News about why she was scared to make the jump. Clearly Nina was able to loosen up in front of the camera because not only is Let’s Be Cops currently taking the box office by storm, but she’s got a horror comedy, The Final Girls, that’s in post-production right now.

One of these days Nina will be owning Hollywood. Police officers, beware!
