True Blood’s Lucy Griffiths Says Nora’s Emotional Death “Was Wicked”

In an emotional scene that brought the stoic Eric Northman to tears last week, True Blood Season 6 killed off vampire Nora Gainsborough, played by British actress Lucy Griffiths.

Lucy recently talked to Vulture about her departure, jokingly telling the online mag that she thought killing off her character “...was wicked!”, and then saying, “I've got no complaints. And I thought it had been written really well. It was clever, and I was looking forward to playing the scenes when I read them.”

The actress also admitted that the scene gave co-star Alexander Skarsgard an opportunity to open up and be more vulnerable, which was what the made the scene between them so moving.

Also, she said shooting the Nora and Eric origin flashback made her death “quite complex and quite rich,” and even answered the question about their lusty connection, saying, “I just think of them being very close. I don't really make a distinction between they're brother and sister and they're lovers.”

Well, we’ll sure miss seeing that closeness manifest itself steamily on screen! We’re also sure Lucy won’t have any trouble landing another TV series and lighting up the big screen with roles in feature films.

Will you miss Nora on True Blood, or was it time for her to go? Let us know in the comments!
