The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus Heads to L.A. For 2014 People’s Choice Awards

It’s time to put on your lucky zombie ear necklace and hope JC is taking requests — the 40th Annual People's Choice Awards air tonight (Wednesday, January 8) from 9 to 11 p.m. ET on CBS!

The Walking Dead is up for four awards, including two for the show and two for our fearless Ricktator, Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes).

We’re expecting to see a few members of the cast and production at the PCAs, and we already know at least one actor to look for at the Nokia Theatre. Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) tweeted a pic early today, showing his OJ breakfast and nice-looking boot: “La or bust. Peopleschoiceawards. Get down!!” He seems to be in good fighting spirits, also sharing this graphic pic on Instagram, writing “La or bust let's do this!”

It shall be done!

Here’s the specific breakdown of TWD’s four nominations:

• Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show, competing against Beauty and the Beast, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and Once Upon a Time.

• Favorite Cable TV Drama, competing against Downton Abbey, Pretty Little Liars, Sons of Anarchy, and White Collar.

• Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes for Favorite TV Anti-Hero, competing against Dexter’s Dexter Morgan, Game of Thrones’ Jaime Lannister, Bates Motel’s Norman Bates, and Breaking Bad’s Walter White.

• Andrew Lincoln for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor, competing against The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder, Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, and Arrow’s Stephen Amell.

If we’re objective about it, Andy/Rick may have stiff competition from Breaking Bad’s Walter White for Anti-Hero and you know those Vampire Diaries and Supernatural fans probably voted like mad for their boys when it comes to Sci-Fi/Fantasy actors and show. It would be great to see Andy win, but the show itself may have the best shot in the Cable TV Drama category.

We’re happy just to see four TWD nominations (although it deserved more) — and we’ll be even happier when we see Norman and company on the red carpet. Good luck to TWD! We’ll be pointing our katanas at the TV, ready to whisper “Liar” if the wrong choices are made…

The Walking Dead Season 4 returns with Episode 9 on Sunday, February 9 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
