Norman Reedus Lands New Movie Role, Joins Cast of Triple Nine

Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) will always be Andrew Lincoln’s (Rick Grimes) “brother” on The Walking Dead, but he may get to make some new bromance buddies in Triple Nine.

According to Deadline, Norman has joined the cast of the heist film, which will also star Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Paul, Teresa Palmer, and Gal Gadot. That’s quite an esteemed group to join!

The thriller follows a crew of dirty cops who are blackmailed by the Russian mob to pull off a nearly impossible heist. The only way to pull off the heist, Deadline relays, is to “manufacture a 999, police code for ‘officer down.’ Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action-packed finale filled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.” The film is set for a wide release next year.

Sounds pretty good — but here’s where we get nervous. They say Triple Nine begins production this summer. That doesn’t mean Norman’s role — however extensive — films all summer, but TWD Season 5 production will probably follow last year’s schedule, which means it’ll film in Georgia from around May to November. When is he going to be able to fit in time for a film role?

We’ll save our fears for another day. For now, congrats to Norman! We’re definitely going to buy tickets to this one. Are you in? Tell us you plans below!

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October 2014 on AMC.
