Norman Reedus Talks Titanium Eye on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (VIDEO)
It seems like everyday we learn something new and interesting about Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon). We’ve already given you a look at his model past, and told you all about his junior tennis career, but did you know that the 45-year old actor also has a titanium eye socket? Yeah, we were surprised too!
Norman stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon yesterday, March 5, and first told the talk show host about the newest Daryl Dixon action figure, which bears an impressive likeness to the Daryl we see on The Walking Dead every Sunday night. “They keep making it with no sleeves,” Norman remarked, indicating that he constantly has to tone his already buff arms.
So where does this bionic eye socket come in, you ask?
Norman explained that in order to make the action figure as realistic as possible, there are machines that scan his face and body. When Norman had his face scanned, however, the titanium eye socket made it appear all black. Yikes! It turns out the eye socket was put in after he was injured in a serious car accident in Germany several years ago. “I was in Berlin... and on the way home I got hit by an 18-wheeler, so I ended up in a hospital having surgery,” he explained.
Jimmy found this unique tidbit of information very cool and asked Norman if he has the ability to shoot lasers out of his eye. “Of course!,” Norman quipped.
