North West: Why Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Chose Their Baby Name
Everything you know about the name North West is wrong. You think Kim Kardashian and Kanye West simply gazed upon a compass to think of their baby name? Well... OK, you might be right... but the duo is reportedly telling friends that there's a deeper meaning.
TMZ reports that the reality-rap power couple see the name as a metaphor for "up." The site reports that this is their mantra: "What's north of north? Nothing."
That is to say, there's "nothing better" than the new girl — but we're not sure about the logic behind the north-of-north statement.
First of all, we could get argue for days as to whether true north or magnetic north is technically more northerly!
Second of all, are we to pretend that the couple chose the name purely for its sentimental value and not because it's a freakin' pun? (OK, rant over.)
TMZ also touts that Kim and 'Ye consider the baby to be their "North Star." Which obviously means that they'll be examining her through a sextant to get their navigational bearings.
What do you think, Kardashi-fans. Does this make you like the name more? Or are you still a naysayer? (No judgments!)
