Lamar Odom Not Likely to Be Signed by Los Angeles Clippers — Report
Despite months of hopeful meetings with NBA teams, Lamar Odom’s return to professional basketball is looking less and less likely.
Lamar’s chances of securing a spot on a roster have slipped significantly this week — and the reason may not have anything to do with the negative media attention brought on by the athlete’s wild summer of drug abuse and extramarital affairs.
According to HollywoodLife.com, it was star Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul’s injury that may be to blame for Lamar’s lack of a signing. While the Clippers had a bit of wiggle room on their roster before Chris got injured, the star athlete’s separated shoulder means the team has to concentrate its efforts on finding different types of players than Lamar.
“The Clippers have no need for an extra big man,” a source told the website. “If they had any desire for Lamar it is now on the back burner. All their injuries this year have been mostly with their smaller players, so they have to fill those holes on the team.”
Following his official split on December 13 from wife Khloe Kardashian, this latest news may mean Lamar is in for one tough month. The athlete is still committed to his recovery from drug addiction, however.
“He wants to love his family, be a son, and never, ever go to the dark side again,” another source said.
